  Boilerworks History

On June 20, 1877, Black Wednesday, a fire began in Saint John. The north-west wind of that day carried the fire from the boardwalk to McLaughlin’s Boiler Works and then continued south and destroyed what is known as the downtown peninsula. This catastrophe is now known as the Great Fire of Saint John. Our restaurant’s name pays homage to the original McLaughlin’s Boiler Works, a manufacturing company.

Our Skybox, a multimedia private dining room, overlooks all events on the boardwalk during the summer time. Not only does it have a great view, but it is also equipped with an overhead projector, a state of the art computer, and a free wireless internet connection. Bring along your CDs, DVDs, and memory sticks for meetings. Our private dining room is also ideal for birthday parties, retirements, reunions or private functions.
